Dan Stephenson is an entrepreneurial, humanitarian, and visionary. His Real Estate career began in 1968 when he purchased property in the Temecula area of Southwest Riverside County. In the following 50+ years Dan and his companies have been the most dominate players in Real Estate development, sales and management in the entire area.
Stephenson founded Rancon in 1971 to specialize in the development of Southwest Riverside County as a real estate brokerage and land development company. From the earliest days, Stephenson gathered knowledgeable professionals who shared his vision of Southwest Riverside County and the then fledging Inland Empire. Today, both Rancon Real Estate and the Rancon Group are staffed with the most qualified real estate professionals in the market area.
With Dan Stephenson at the helm, Rancon Group companies have developed over 350 projects which includes the first master-planned community, Alta Murrieta, the Inland Empire’s premier master-planned business parks, the 153-acre Tri-City Corporate Centre, Bear Creek Golf Course Community and the Europa Village Winery Resort. During more than four decades of “doing the same thing in the same place” Stephenson has amassed a reputation for spearheading high-quality projects and maximizing his investor’s returns.

As a syndicator, Stephenson has formed over 350 partnerships and raised more than $800 million in investor capital. Rancon Group partnerships have developed and sold more than 10,000 acres or commercial and residential properties, and built over 100 Buildings consisting of industrial, office, retail, apartments, self-storage, master planned communities and a hospitality resort. The Rancon Group currently controls more than 2,800 acres of commercial and residential property.
As a philanthropist, Stephenson is a founding member of the Temecula Valley Theater Foundation and actively supports numerous charitable organizations including the former Sharp Medical Foundation (board of directors), the Arts Council of Temecula Valley, Habitat for Humanity and many more. In 1991, Stephenson was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young. He has also been named “Citizen of the Year,” for the cities of Menifee (2002), and Murrieta (2005). One of Dan’s proudest moments was in 2019 when he received the Lifetime Achievement award from the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Stephenson graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in finance and real estate. He also attended the MBA at USC AND the executive MBA program at the Harvard School of Business.
